BBC WEEK 1 results

Welcome to the opening week,

The race to the title begins and it is EA Sof that lead the way at the top after a spanking of Funky Town. Sophies Steak house are in 2nd capitalising on 4 man Scoregasms who did very well to hold their own in the first half, unfortunately for Scoregasms there was to be no revival and steak house turned up the heat. In 3rd are current champions SBFC who welcomed Dave into the premiership with a one way traffic victory. London Meteors were the only side to keep a clean sheet this week as they started off victorious in a good game against Madness FC. Albion Wanderers and Unathletic Divided contested a cracker of a contest where both teams looked like grabbing all 3 points, however it was Albion that got their season of to the right start. Finally in our game of the evening Kantar and Bad Banter both with different squads contested a2-2 draw. 1 point gained or 3 points lost for these two teams?

Game of the week

Bad Banter and Kantar really brought out all the stops with Potter in goal it was a new look Kantar and immediately he had to save as Banter looked stronger. Hamish got the deserved lead after Banter had chance after chance. However the most skilful player of the bunch and definitely the one with the best hair Loumas levelled. Kantar then went ahead in the 2nd half after some shocking Banter defending. Mathius did claw it back and it could have gone either way. Norval pulled of some fine saves throughout the game and a draw seemed the fair results although I think Banter will walk away with their heads down as they must be thinking they could have got all 3 points.

Dangerous debut

Carlo Ungaro (London Meteors) was on fire today grabbing goals in both halves as he tucked it away past a weak Madness defence.

Old meets new

George Bukowski (Albion) has been around his local secondary school and pension home ;) as he combines the old Albion with the new, Mike and Olly part of the new breed made an impact whilst Thomas Shellard was of course on the money.

Total football

All EA Sof players managed to get on the score sheet this week. Mo with a hat trick, Ishmael and Anthony with 2 and Didi and Nathan with a goal each. Funky town were just run to the ground.

Goals of the day

Abdoul (Sophies Steak house) struck from long range as it sailed into the net.

Theo Hunte (SBFC) didn’t think you can lob a keeper in 5 a side but he definitely managed to pull a rabbit out of the hat

Deadly duo

Didi and Mo (EA Sof) were finger lickin good, linking up and exchanging the craziest of passes all game.

Madness

Madness FC could have gone 2 or 3 up in the first 5 minutes but failed to convert, in addition to that they had 2 or 3 blinding shots from Stuart and Dan all saved in the game, it just wasn’t happening and Meteros can count themselves lucky Madness didn’t at the very least grab a point.

Crossbar club

Charlie (FC Dave) hit the woodwork 3 times, Dave just couldn’t crack the code, he did eventually manage a goal in the 2nd half.

Going solo

Adam (Sophies) went on a fantastic run to go past Yarun to then calmly slot home, amazing.

Battle of the day

Yarun (Scoregasms) vs. Adam and Caisar (Sophies) all had to be warned at different stages of the game. Whilst I appreciate the excellent challenges all 3 did make and the ability of all 3 players lets all remember swearing or continuous kicking in the back of the legs wont help. Lets just dial it down a notch shall we?

Sniffing a comeback

Captain Charisma Miles (Unathletic) pulled it back to 3-2 with quite a bit of time left on the clock. Albion looked a bit nervous and Unathletic did try to level it but it wasn’t meant to be

Man down

FC Dave were down Eddy in the 2nd half of their game as it was quite a gruesome dislocation to the thumb. We hope A N E popped it right back in. Gloves next time I bet.

Super saves

Jonny (London Meteros) pulled off 2 or 3 cracking saves one was from a well struck half volley from range as he tipped over.

Jamal Anderson (Unathletic divided) made countless saves throughout the game as he looked to stop the Albion onslaught.

George B 1st half and Mike 2nd half (Albion) were both forced into fine saves in what was a game of may chances.

Norval Denton (Bad Banter). Key saves throughout the game and stopped Kantar from running away with it in the 2nd half.

Team of the week

GK Norval Denton (Bad Banter)

DF Mo (EA Sof)

MDF Andre Hunte ( SBFC)

AMF Abdoul (Sophie’s Steak house)

FW Carlo Ungaro (London Meteors)
