This week

Final day drama

In a very heated encounter EA SOF managed to stay top of the table after defeating London Meteors. SBFC swept past Madness FC which means the title will be decided between SBFC and EA SOF on the final day of the season.

The relegation scrap

Albion secured 3rd place with a win over Funky Town who gave them a late scare but for Funky their fate will be decided on the final day. Also caught in the relegation dog fight are Unathletic Divided who scraped a point in their game against Kantar. For Kantar a point is all they needed to remain safe but for Divided it’s a final day finish.  Bad Banter picked up all 3 points in the all relegation grudge match against Scoregasms A loss for Scoregasms sends them down and out while Banter need a win in the final week. FC Dave with their forfeit are also sent packing.

Player cam

Hat trick hero

Charlie (EA SOF) was on it like a car bonnet this week with 4 great goals he could have made it 5 but he had his penalty saved. A great performance and worthy MOM.

Goal of the day

Huw Taylor (Divided) with a stunning half volley into the top corner to break the dead lock.

Rocket

Ali (Albion) launched from range on his debut and it rifled into the net to give Albion a 2 goal lead.

Thanks for coming

Natai (SBFC) burst onto the scene with a cracking shot that sailed into the top left, keeper had no chance. His technique is to come on the pitch late that way everyone is warn down and his shots look extra sexy ;)

Deadly duo

Tom and Matt (Funky) were linking like an ice cream on a hot summer’s day but despite their shots and passing lacked the killer instinct.

Move of the day

It was coming and Kantar equalised through Andrew after good build up involving all outfield players.

Super saves

It could have been a very different story for SOF as Ishmael saved from Carlo and Pau in the first half. In addition Meteors hit the post and crossbar as they should have at least got a point in the game

Clean sheet bonus

Norval Denton (Banter) with key saves throughout the game as Scoregasms fired blanks this week

What do I have to do?

Lewis Jordan (Unathletic) was parrying shots from pillar to post especially from Mike and Tom as Divided were praying they wouldn’t get taken out. Somehow Kantar didn’t get double digits in this game, thanks to Jordan. Over at the other end Hanley (Kantar) did much the same with critical saves but Jordan beat him to the MOM award.

More saves

Seems like a week of keepers as George B (Albion) saved 3 times with high legs to stop Tom from Funky Town early in the first half, an injury then struck and whilst he was off Funky scored to make it a little bit more tense.

Daniel Lorenzato Llyod (Madness) despite the score at 4-0 made some brilliant saves.

Rock solid

Andre Hunte (SBFC) helped SBFC to a clean sheet with his no nonsense challenges at the back and when he had the ball like a bull sees the colour red he charged, he was so fast only the broken fencing could stop him from running. London Olympics 2012 he’s coming.

Workhorse

Steve (Albion) was everywhere this week, perfect passes, good defence and a well taken goal.

Time wasted

In the SOF vs. Meteors game about 5 minutes was wasted arguing, a good game of football spoilt by general nonsense. If only we had a mute button.

Instant impact

Eager (Banter) returned to warm his legs up for a new season with 2 well taken goals. Original Banter boy Luke Doubt was also up to his usual tricks and Nyk of course missed from close range.

Honourable mention

Dan Beade (Madness) despite being on the end of a thumping possessed some great touches and passes,

Player of the week

Charlie (EA SOF)

Team of the week

Gk – Lewis Jordan (Unathletic Divided)

Def – Andre Hunte (sbfc)

Mid – Steve (Albion)

AMF – Rich Eager (Banter)
