Week 1

Cambridge University flew to the top of the BBC League 1 after they thrashed Chronicle Hackers 9-1 as man of the match Ryan Deluchi contributed with 2 goals and a solid performance! Avanta fc sit 2nd in the league table after they waltzed past Barearselona winning 8-0 as MOM Rafa Serrano netted 4 times! Microstrategy are in 3rd position with their 4-1 victory over MSE after Theo Ajetunmobi struck 2 first half goals to settle the nerves of Strategy! Our final game saw Notso Athletic play out a 2 all draw with Fc Flamingo with a last gasp equaliser but in honesty a game that could have gone either way.

Player cam

Last gasp

Notso Athletic went into the half time break 1-0 ahead as Thomas “what a name” MacThomas scored early on to calm his players nerves; Flamingo were brighter in the 2nd half and it came from Simon getting his name on the score sheet to level the score at 1 apiece. Lee Fordham then put Flamingo into the lead for the 1st time to give them momentum in the game. There was 3 minutes left in the game and Andy Shovel popped up in the right place at the right time to snatch an equaliser for Athletic and break Flamingo hearts! The game could have gone either way in the dying moments with a near own goal by the Flamingo keeper and they had a half chance over at the other end. In the end a draw the right results.

Late arrival

Theo Ajetunmobi (Micro) arrived late in his game but scored both of the opening goals; 1 of them was a solid close range finish that the keeper could do nothing about!

Bullet

Thomas MacThomas (Notso) hit a long range cracker that caught the keeper off guard and by the time he could move it was in the back of the net!

Goal of the day

Ryan Deluchi (Cambridge) finished off a delightful team move that saw 3 passes made without it touching the ground for Ryan to chest and volley past the keeper!

Showboat

Rafa Serrano (Avanta) was showing us how he is the 5 a side Messi with skills throughout his game as he embarrassed the opposition by poking the ball through their legs a few times.

Captain charisma

Lee Fordham (Flamingo) was very agile in possession as he snuck into gaps well using his quick pair of feet to beat his marker.

Going solo

Ish (Cambridge) went on some driving runs forward attacking the space well to then give off some lovely passes to team mates. Tim also put in a master class performance where for one of his goals he just went on a rampaging run.

Rock solid

Jason Cruz (MSE) got stuck into the tackles at the back for his team as he tried to stop Theo from making an impact on the game!

Super saves

Jeremy                 Chin (Avanta) kept a well deserved clean sheet in his game for making a couple of stops to deny Barearselona from getting on the score sheet.

Alex Stogdon (Notso) stopped a lot of shots from passing him in between the sticks as the game was end to end and he needed to be alert at all times!

Dory Azzo (Hackers) was the busier of the 2 keepers in his game and was forced into making numerous stops to deny Cambridge from reaching double figures!
