Clash of the titans
Santander were 1-0 up at half time with Ignacio Frutos getting an early goal to give his side momentum going into the 2nd half. In the 2nd half Ignacio then scored twice as Why Always us fans began to throw paper planes onto the pitch and boo their players. Kay got a goal back for Why Always us but it wasn’t enough as Javier Tavera killed off their hopes with a late goal to end the game 4-1. Title…Game ON!
Battle at the bottom
It was all level at 2 apiece after an exciting 1st half that saw Kane Lewis open the scoring for Master Class however a double from Jordi Casanovas put ZS in front! Kane equalised before the half time whistle blew so it was back to square one for both teams! ZS then took the lead again through a fortunate own goal to make it 3-2; Master Class then came back as Chris Psaras scored 2 in quick succession to equalise and put his team back in front with the score at 4-3. Finally Jonathan Barber scored the goal to kill off ZS hopes of getting anything from the game as it ended 5-3.
Intelligence
Javier Tavera (Santander) took a quick free-kick using his initiative and managed to beat the keeper at his near post!
Cool as you like
Edward Lawrence-Jones (Madrid) finished his goal well using his right foot to place the ball into the bottom corner out of the keepers reach. J
Pinging off the post
Jordi Casanovas (ZS) struck a shot from outside the box that pinged in off the post making it look that little bit better!
Showboat
Richard Miller (Why always) dribbled well throughout his game being the outlet for his team as they looked to do their damage on the counter attack.
Where you going
Moro (La Roja) went on some mazy runs whenever the ball was at his feet he looked to take on a defender and get a shot off being very direct every time.
Skipinder
Chris Psaras (Master) skipped past players for fun in the 2nd half to score both his goals as they couldn’t keep up with him.
Rock solid
Mark Saunders (ZS) defended well in his game taking up some good positions to intercept passes well and break up the oppositions play in the opening half.
Alastair Smart (Madrid) got stuck into the challenges being full of energy.
Man marker
Fabio Illiovitz (Santander) marked Charlie very well to stop him from doing any damage to his team being on his touch within the blink of an eye. Looks like Santander planned this as Charlie was kept quiet.
Super saves
Raul Garcia (Santander) made some good saves throughout his game being alert at all times and very agile in and around his penalty area.
